You’ve fallen in love with vintage-inspired weddings. And you’ve spent months pinning your favorite details: picture frames, wooden chairs, birdcages and antique mirrors. And you know exactly what you want your wedding to look like.

But actually finding the vintage props and decor accents is much more intensive than it may seem on Pinterest. Luckily, getting married in midcoast Maine means you are in the mecca of flea markets and antique stores. It’s likely that shopping for your wedding is fun and adventurous and the big day itself.

We spend a lot of time in the summer cruising up and down Route 1 or Route 3 with a truck large enough to take home any piece that catches our eye. But you have to know where to go to find the most spectacular and affordable vintage props to make your wedding come together and make your Pinterest page come to life.

1. Montsweag Flea Market

This outdoor flea market is always my first stop since it is the most eclectic and affordable. The perfect place to find little things like mercury vases and centerpiece accessories. You’re likely to find Maine’s best florists and wedding planners looking for the same things, so get there early! There is always great food and the sellers are quick to make friends (and deals).

Located at the corner of State Rt. 1 and Mountain Road. Hours 6:30am-5pm. WED, Friday-Sunday

2. Avalon Antiques Market

This large space is the perfect place to stop since they offer such a variety of goods. From furniture to books and small unique pieces. It’s a large multi-dealer shop right on Route 1 in Wiscasset and we have had great luck finding exactly what we are looking for here without breaking the bank.

536 Bath Road, US Route 1, Wiscasset ME Hours: 9am – 7pm 7 Monday-Sunday

3. Searsport Antique Mall

This huge market is a must-stop but can be more expensive than some of the other off-the-beaten-path options. Searsport is a destination antique-ing spot so be prepared to elbow some of the veteran shoppers to get the items you fall in love with. And you will fall in love. They carry some of the most unique and stunning decor pieces in the State.

149 East Main St. Searsport, ME Hours: 10am-5pm Monday-Sunday

4. Liberty Tool Company

This is hands down our favorite place to shop in Maine. While it’s easy to find chairs and vases and mirrors at most antique stores, finding unique pieces with a masculine touch is key to great wedding decor. This place actually has hundreds of vintage skeleton keys, which could be great for escort cards or used to create a  vintage necklace as gifts for your bridesmaids. Old barn goods and machinery add a rustic touch to balance the elegance of your wedding decor.

57 Main St. Liberty, ME Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Sunday
