Featuring Oysters in Your Maine Summer Wedding

French's Point Wedding Menu

Maine, and especially the Midcoast region of Maine, is known for having some of the best oysters money can buy. From the beautiful shells to the delicious meat inside, incorporating oysters into your summer wedding at French’s Point can bring about a feel that is quintessential “Maine”! Julie and Bryan did just that for their French’s Point wedding, and the result was magnificent. Maine Seasons Events, Julie’s wedding planner, incorporated oyster shells in the escort cards and as table decor. During the reception, Little Island Oyster Co provided and shucked to the delight of guests. A huge thank you to Rebecca Arthurs for the stunning photography!

From The Bride:

“To give a bit more context, oysters is one of my biggest passions (see: InAHalfShell.com) and we decided that it would be fun to incorporate them into many aspects of the wedding — including an oyster & champagne toast, chocolate oyster wedding cake toppers, and take-home oyster shell souvenirs. I spent about 2 years collecting the world’s most beautiful oyster shells, hand painting the insides gold, and using them as the escort cards! Overall design direction came from Meagan (Maine Seasons Events) but the actual oyster shells on the table were provided by Judy at Flora Fauna.”
