When planning a wedding, couples are always on the lookout for unique & memorable experiences… but also a celebration that resonates with their vision & values. A trend that has been gaining popularity in recent years is the concept of weekend wedding venues with accommodations at a private residence, estate, or farm. Imagine celebrating this special time in your life, surrounded by loved ones, in an intimate/private, picturesque location for an entire weekend. In short, the feel of a weekend wedding retreat, like those hosted here at French’s Point, can best be described as a vacation, & a reunion, with a wedding at the heart of the experience. If this sounds like what you are seeking for your wedding, look no further than French’s Point, located on the coast of Maine. Now, let’s explore the benefits of a full weekend wedding retreat venue.
A full weekend wedding allows you to extend the festivities beyond just a single day. Unlike a traditional wedding, where the focus is often on the ceremony & reception alone, in a brief 6-8 hour time frame, a full weekend wedding provides more opportunity to spend quality time with your loved ones, bonding over shared activities & creating unforgettable memories together. A weekend wedding provides ample time to reconnect with family & friends, create lasting memories, & truly immerse yourselves in the joyous atmosphere. French’s Point offers various on-site amenities & recreational opportunities, for enjoyment in the downtime between the scheduled events, ensuring that everyone has a fantastic time throughout the weekend.
Unlike a resort or hotel property, when hosting your private wedding celebration, a private estate like French’s Point is closed to the public for the entire weekend. This means that the only people present during the entire experience are your family & friends, and the vendor team you hire. This is very different from what is possible in more public settings, like hotels, inns, country clubs & resorts.
French’s Point offers a beautiful setting where you can host all of your weekend events, from the rehearsal/welcome dinner, then the wedding day, to the farewell brunch, in a variety of settings at one private estate.
With a weekend wedding retreat, you have the flexibility to design a unique itinerary that reflects your personality & preferences. French’s Point offers a range of indoor & outdoor spaces that can be tailored to your specific needs. Whether you envision an al fresco waterfront lobster bake, a cozy bonfire gathering, or an elegant reception in a sailcloth overlooking the Maine Coast, the picturesque possibilities are endless.
At a private weekend wedding venue like French’s Point, you have the flexibility of selecting your own team of wedding professionals (planners, caterers, photographers, etc), to curate the experience you envision for each event of the weekend. The end result of this element alone is a more customized, curated, meaningful experience, that is reflective of you as a couple.
French’s Point offers onsite lodging for 50-60 guests, for your closest friends’ wedding party & family, in 26 guest suites. This means that your immediate family & wedding party can stay right here at the estate, for the entire weekend with you.
