As many of you know, we’ve been pretty busy lately at French’s Point. We just launched our new Maine Wedding website, hosted a huge community Holiday event, started a Facebook page to communicate with our brides, and we’ve been hitting the bridal shows — meeting many of you now in the wedding planning process finally face to face! Plus with all this beautiful snow we’ve been shoveling, shoveling, shoveling.

With things changing and moving so quickly, we thought we’d start a blog to share what’s going on at French’s Point as well as the interesting perspectives we have from working behind the scenes in the wedding industry. As part of our philosophy and success, we all wear many hats throughout the day so we thought we’d take that approach to the blog and take turns writing.

You’ll hear from several contributors including myself. I’m Jessika Brooks, once a barefoot child who roamed French’s Point looking for starfish and hermit crabs and now its current owner and the on-site wedding planner. Cat Randell is our event manager and wizard of outrageously good drinks. She has a soft southern voice perfect for calming both brides and grooms. Sara Ripley is our operations and administration manager and she is meticulous with details. She’s been told by many that she has superhero powers when it comes to helping couples launch 2-3 day wedding events in a manner that seems flawless. Eric Joy is our service and sales manager. He excels at customer service and our clients and their families rave about him. Finally, we have Luke Bulley. He is our facilities manager, fixer of all things broken, and the charming young man you may have met at many of the recent wedding shows.

We each bring a different skill set and point of view to the weddings we collaborate on with our couples. We hope as a team, we’ll be able to translate this to our blog.

Thanks for checking in and we hope you’ll visit often for inspiration and ideas.
