The tale of the Black Eyed Susan is a sweet and sad tale of a woman searching for “William” her sailor husband who promises to return to her. The tale plays out in the Maine wildflower fields each year around the end of August when both the Black Eyed Susans and Sweet William bloom at exactly the same time.

It is a sweet story and the flowers themselves are a gorgeous addition to any Maine wildflower bouquet or decor.
