It’s been almost a century since my grandmother’s uncle purchased a rustic cottage on French’s Point, a family hideaway where years later my siblings and I would spend our summers playing in the woods and running along the beaches.
Back then, the stunning estate we know today was home to a simple summer camp and church retreat. As I reflect on all the changes we’ve undergone this past year, it’s hard to believe how far this place has come. Some of the highlights:
At French’s Point Estate:
-We’ve added a beautiful new deck off our east side ballroom with gorgeous views
-The Bridal Boudoir Deck now has an overhang, so the bridal party can wander in and out regardless of the weather as the bride preps for the wedding
-Our landscaping continues to grow and mature
At Beach Rose Farm at French’s Point:
-We’ve expanded our orchards and berry garden and started our produce garden to be planted next year
-A new recreational lawn features tournament-spec bocce ball, badminton, volleyball, two horseshoe pits, and a croquet lawn
-We’ve added two new large cobblestone terraces, one with a westward ocean view and another two-level terrace looking east over our private beach (perfect for lobster bake rehearsal dinners and cool nights with its new fire pit)
-At the Farmhouse, we’ve added two new bedrooms, bringing us to 11 bedrooms that can sleep 25-35 guests
-We also have updated lounge furniture in the Rumpus Room and installed a new large flat-screen TV
Looking ahead, more changes are sure to come, but the history of French’s Point remains happily untouched.
