Tent Lighting

At French’s Point, we offer our private oceanfront estate with abundant gardens & a variety of settings for weekend festivities, including our beautiful Sail Cloth Tent to host your various weekend festivities (which would cost $40K if you were to rent the same inclusions for your celebration elsewhere).

What lighting is offered as part of the French’s Point Sail Cloth Tent package?

  • Dimmable perimeter lights
  • Dimmable up-casting pole lights that illuminate the canopy

Do I need to hire a lighting company?

No, you do not. This amenity we offer is plenty of illumination for your celebration. However, some of our couples choose to add event lighting to the tent for the sake of design aesthetics & ambiance.

Who can install event lighting & decor?

Lighting & hanging decor that requires a ladder or lift must be installed by an approved, licensed and insured lighting professional.  We offer options on our Preferred Vendor List.

Our Preferred Lighting Companies

These providers have all worked at our property before, signed our Vendor Code of Conduct & obtains liability insurance. Choosing a lighting provider off our list will make your communications simple & more enjoyable.

Installation Time

We kindly ask that your planner schedule your lighting installation & removal within your rental term & confirm this with our office.

Candle Light

We always find that candles are an affordable lighting option if you are looking to add a nice glow to your table design, especially if you are planning to dine during or after sunset. Just remember that per Maine State Fire Marshal Regulations, all open flames must be enclosed in glass and the height of the flame cannot exceed the height of the glass, so candlesticks are not permitted.  Additionally, the breeze passing through the tent would extinguish an unprotected flame.

If you still have questions about lighting at French’s Point, please feel free to email the Property Manager at nicole.frenchspoint@gmail.com.

French's Point - Tent Lighting

Real Review: A One of a Kind Experience

Dear Jessika,

Thank you very much for all of your time, support, ideas & warmth over the past 12 months! From the day we met you over doughnuts & contemplated (for way too long) while sitting on your couch, to your thoughtful support in reserving to countless random questions, emails & calls, you always made us feel cared for and like a priority – whether our wedding was months away or days away.

While French’s Point is obviously a one-of-a-kind place with a beautiful backdrop and special history, you and your team were and are a substantial part of making it a one-of-a-kind experience. We are very grateful we got to work with you on such a special weekend in our lives, and your friends & family shared countless compliments about you, Nicole, and of course, the property.

We genuinely hope we can see you again when we’re in Maine, and perhaps, down the road, hold another memorable celebration at French’s Point. In the meantime, we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends & family.

Love,

Amanda & Phil

Sample Winter Wedding Weekend Itinerary

At French’s Point, no matter the season, each wedding hosted here is a reflection of our couples and their vision for the experience they wish to share with their family and friends. We LOVE these weddings! But we love nothing more than a winter weekend wedding at French’s Point. It brings back memories of my own winter wedding 10 years ago. Winter weddings possess magic and beauty all their own, simply not found in any other season. Perhaps I am biased. I do think that French’s Point was made for weddings, particularly this time of year. If you are considering a winter wedding, I thought I would share a sample winter wedding weekend itinerary with you for inspiration. Put your own touches on this and make the weekend your own!

How To Plan Your Transportation: Uber, Lyft, & Taxis

French’s Point is a Destination Wedding Venue on the Coast of Maine and a Vacation Home Rental Property. We are privately located at a quiet spot on the coast, with uninterrupted views of the ocean and the Maine landscape. The nearest city or downtown area is 15 minutes from French’s Point and the nearest airport is in the City of Bangor, 40 minutes down Route 1A. Uber and Lyft are great resources in Southern Maine, but once you head up the coastal region and into the midcoast or central regions of Maine, finding an Uber or Lyft is a rarity. We don’t recommend relying on these resources when traveling to French’s Point for a wedding or vacation.

Car Rentals

We recommend renting your own vehicle for the duration of your stay so you can explore all the wonders and attractions this wonderful region has to offer.

Taxi Service

If you must use a cab or taxi, there is one resource in Belfast, Maine, 15 minutes down the road. Please call Bay Taxi at (207) 338-1993. They have a limited number of vehicles.

Event Transportation

If you are the host of an event at French’s Point, please secure a bus, trolley, shuttle or form or transportation service for your guests staying offsite for your events to ensure their safety and enjoyment.
