French’s Point Estate is thrilled to continue a new series of blog posts spotlighting amazing Maine wedding vendors that help to make weddings at our waterfront wedding venue not only successful but truly the embodiment of the experience our clients strive to craft for their family and friends. This series will showcase some of the best providers from our vibrant, talented, dedicated wedding industry community we are so proud to be a part of here in Maine and New England. This group of professional wedding vendors understands and adheres to our guiding principles for the service we endeavor to provide our clients: Be Responsive, Be Kind, Provide Excellent Customer Service, Provide the Very Best Product/Service. Because of these wonderful people, the celebrations here are French’s Point Estate are the stuff of which dreams are made!

I met Heidi over a year ago when we began collaborating on a mutual client’s wedding celebration which we recently hosted at French’s Point (see photos below).

Heidi is a beautiful blend of class, heart, hard work and vision. She is incredibly articulate, kind, calm, patient, and so very talented! Heidi is originally from Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, has traveled all over the US, and she has spent the last 15 years living and working in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire and Maine.

Heidi’s love of celebrations started in her childhood as she watched her mother and grandmother host lovely family gatherings with beauty and gusto. Her background in theatre and design combined with sales, marketing, and business management make her ideally capable of producing flawless, customized, meaningful events. Heidi has planned over 70 events throughout New England. Her desire is that your event is unique to you and tells your story. I just adore her and you will too.

You must meet Heidi Brisette, the owner, chief planner, designer and visionary.

Tell us a little bit about your background and why you are in the industry.

I came from a business background in marketing, sales, and software/tech start-ups. So it would seem that it was a huge jump for me into event planning, but it was actually done with full intention. My background in business helped shape a clear understanding of the direction of a project, project management, handling large groups and personalities, and being “on.” When I layered that level of knowledge against my personal passions, creativity, and growing up entertaining, it was a perfect fit. I developed my planning chops when with other companies as director of marketing and senior level sales; planning large corporate events in Boston, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. Additionally, I starting helping friends and family plan their private events and weddings. After 5 years, it grew, and I launched my business. I haven’t looked back since. I genuinely and full-heartedly love what I do every single day.

How would you describe your services (day of coordinator, full service event planning, logistics management, event design, etc.)?

Seacoast Harbor Events, our parent company, provides full event management for both weddings and private events, functions, and corporate. Our sister company, SHE Luxe Weddings and Design, exclusively provides couples a comprehensive approach to their destination New England Wedding Planning and Design.

Within our offerings, we provide three distinct services; event management, style/design, and event production.

Event Management: Once everything is planned and in place, you need a team behind you to be able to orchestrate your day. We have event coordinators who are the point of contact leading up to your wedding day for questions, vendor suggestions, a wedding planning portal, and then come in 6 weeks prior to the wedding. We offer a highly comprehensive event management service (which in the wedding world could be called day-of, but it is far greater than anything that can be done in a day). This is, in our professional opinion a must-have, no matter the budget.

Style and Design: Think of us as the architects that craft your wedding day. During our initial style and design call, we create a design board that illustrates your entire wedding from ceremony, cocktail, reception, details, feel, etc. We carefully blend together the details of lighting, concept, layout, colors, florals, linens, decor, furniture, place settings, and so much more. We source and hand-picked the perfect solutions and professionals to meet your wedding day style.

Production: Producing an event means strategically bringing everything together and hiring all the right vendors, creating the flow, ensuring all needs are met for everyone including the couple, guests, and also the vendors to be able to shine on your wedding day!

When we blend together our Event Management, Style and Design, and Production; you get the crème de la crème, our full comprehensive planning.

Describe your ideal client.

The weddings we love to create are what I would call “feeling centric.” That the details placed, the atmosphere we create is completely centered around the feel and the experience. Although we create beautiful, amazing, and lovely weddings in all shapes and sizes; our style is that of keeping it as intimate and meaningful, no matter what. We love it when our couples feel the same way and have a similar idea in creating their wedding day.

Describe your approach to your service.

There is nothing more important than service. Period. In business and certainly this business, service includes how everything is handled in advance of the wedding day, alongside the attention given on the wedding day itself. There really is an art to entertaining. Whether it is a black-tie event or a coastal causal cocktail party – we believe the level of service should never change. Guests should always feel taken care of, thought of, and considered. This is our approach to service – always. There is nothing worse than having an amazing band, beautiful set-up, delicious food…and then having the service lack. People remember how they feel at a party, wedding, event…and that has everything to do with service first, and atmosphere after to compliment the amazing service.

What’s the best memory you have of Keri and Greg’s Wedding?

I love it when couples are able to take time right after their wedding to be alone, take it in, and have a moment to see everything. Keri and Greg decided to do this, and their moment took place in the beautifully designed tent. Keri had a clear vision of what she wanted on her wedding day with colors, florals, etc, but kept saying to me, “I can’t visualize all of this coming together,” and I would say “well, that is my job.” She and Greg had a chance to see all their details and everything we planned together in full scope without guests; unobstructed. They were ecstatic. They took their time and walked around the tent, seeing everything, while sipping their champagne.

The day goes so fast, and so many details are missed because couples are unable to take that time and enjoy everything they planned and dreamt up for a year. This is always a special moment for me and am grateful we got that moment at Keri and Greg’s wedding.

In love & parties,
Heidi Brissette
