The leaves are changing and the crisp air has finally set here in Midcoast Maine. The fall season is arguably the most beautiful in Maine. One of our favorite ways of exploring the gorgeous landscape is going apple picking. Wandering through the rows of trees and trying to find the perfect apples is the perfect way to spend an afternoon with guests or family.

Here is a quick list of three orchards in Midcoast Maine that provide not only pick-your-own apple orchards but a variety of other fun activities.

Hope Orchard

Hope Orchard is a great place for eco-conscious apple pickers, they only use practices and materials that are least toxic and specifically designated for use in their apple orchard’s eco-system to allow for sustainable growth for many generations of Mainers to come.

Sewall Organic Orchard

Sewall Orchard is located on the south side of Levensellar Mountain in Lincolnville, ME at an elevation of 250-500 feet above sea level, perfect for growing apples. They also have an expansive blueberry field that rises high above the orchard and looks out over the Camden Hills State Park and parts of Penobscot Bay to the southeast, and Acadia National Park hard to the east. This is a great place to bring a picnic and enjoy the view!
