Q: What are your tips for lighting a large space without it feeling overwhelming?
A: “The best lighting design is created in layers; there is a base, design pops, and texture. You do not need all three if you are just trying to light a space, but for a most robust design centric wedding, you will want to incorporate all three. As an example: Bistro and Twinkle lighting can be your base, then you choose to hang crystal chandeliers and globes over the dance floor, and add a texture design to the ceiling or dance floor with a gobo. Texture can also come in forms of floral design overhead, draping, or sculptural designs. Your design pops can be paper lanterns, chandeliers, pendants, globes, etc. And your base will be what allows everything to be lit, and offers that base layer. If on a limited budget, a base and design pop is all you need.” – Heidi from SHE LUXE
Q: What’s your process for working with couples to ensure their rental selections align with their vision for the wedding day?
A: “Our collaborative approach places you at the center of the design process. We begin by understanding your aesthetic preferences, functional needs, and the overall ambiance you wish to create. Leveraging our extensive experience and industry relationships, we curate a selection of rental items that harmonize with your theme and venue. Throughout the process, we maintain open communication, providing guidance and adjustments as needed to ensure every detail aligns with your vision. We are quick to suggest additional rental companies to add to the overall experience and look. Sometimes it is a practical add on and other times it is a chance to enhance your overall look by adding in surprising elements that we may not carry.” – Lani from Heartwood Essentials
Q: What are the most popular lighting trends for weddings right now, and how do you incorporate them into your designs?
A: “The biggest lighting trend right now for weddings is just that having wedding lighting is an essential part of your overall design and budget, where just a few years ago it wasn’t as much of a priority for all weddings. Now, we are seeing all weddings make lighting design a priority because they see how it transforms a space and really sets the tone for the evening. As for specific designs, this will always be evolving, but we are seeing statement pieces and unique lighting elements being considered more than ever, and bringing what looks like pieces that would be hung in a home throughout a tent to warm up the space and create an outdoor restaurant experience.” – Heidi from SHE LUXE
Q: What advice do you have for couples planning a destination wedding at French’s Point when it comes to rentals?
A: “French’s Point offers a variety of event settings, each with its own character and capacity. To enhance these spaces, consider the following:
Q: How far in advance should couples book their lighting to ensure they get their desired effects, especially for peak wedding seasons?
A: “Because we work closely with planners and florists, and we are creating custom designs or ordering specialty pieces for weddings, we tend to book 8-12 months out from your wedding date. We will sometimes get booked 3-4 months out from some events, but we are often fully booked 3-4 months before peak season and are already in production stages for those events. We always recommend book early so we can plan something amazing together!” – Heidi from SHE LUXE
Q: How do you ensure the rentals complement French’s Point’s elegant outdoor and indoor settings?
“Our design philosophy and offerings emphasize harmony between the event elements and the venue’s endless charm. We select rentals that accentuate French’s Point’s coastal elegance, opting for colors and materials that echo the natural surroundings. Our goal is to enhance the venue’s beauty without overshadowing it, creating a cohesive and immersive experience for you and your guests.
By thoughtfully selecting and coordinating rentals, we ensure that every aspect of your wedding at French’s Point reflects your vision while embracing the venue’s distinctive elegance.” – Lani from Heartwood Essentials
