There’s something truly special about the gathering of your closest family & friends before the big day. Your welcome reception &/or rehearsal dinner events set the tone for your wedding celebration—and at French’s Point, the possibilities for creating an unforgettable celebration are as endless as the ocean views.
Whether you’re envisioning a casual coastal gathering or an elegant seated dinner, our estate offers a variety of stunning event spaces to match your vision. With 15 acres of oceanfront grounds and multiple indoor and outdoor settings, French’s Point is the perfect place to host a one-of-a-kind welcome reception or rehearsal dinner that reflects your style and welcomes your guests in true Maine fashion.
1. Lobster Bake on the Bluff’s Edge Gazebo Promenade
What’s more quintessentially Maine than a lobster bake with a view? Host your rehearsal dinner on the Bluff’s Edge with the ocean as your backdrop. Set long farm tables near the gazebo promenade, add string lights overhead, & treat your guests to a relaxed New England-style feast. As the sun sets over the bay, it’s the perfect place to toast to your upcoming “I do’s” with the sound of waves in the background.
2. Elegant Sit-Down Dinner Inside the Chateau
If you’re dreaming of a more formal affair, the historic Chateau offers timeless elegance & comfort. With endless windows & views of the water, large fireplaces, the interior conservatory, lounge, foyer & dining room provide a cozy & refined atmosphere for a seated dinner. Add florals, candlelight, & a curated menu for an elevated, intimate experience.
3. Mobile-Inspired Celebration on the West Courtyard & West Terrace
For couples who want to kick off the weekend with fun & flair, the West Courtyard & Terrace is perfect for an open-air gathering with food trucks & local brews. Let your guests mingle, play, & indulge in a variety of eats—from wood-fired pizza to gourmet tacos—while enjoying coastal views, incredible sunsets, & a laid-back vibe.
4. Oceanfront Dining at the Private Beach
Take advantage of our Private Beach outfitted with lawn games & a bonfire pit, for a toes-in-the-sand experience your guests will never forget. This space is ideal for a fun field day competition, a shorefront clam bake, capped off with a cozy bonfire gathering. It’s casual, coastal, & full of charm.
5. Intimate Al Fresco Fete on the West Porch
For an intimate, semi-enclosed setting that still embraces the beauty of the outdoors, the West Porch offers a unique option. This covered space provides shelter while still allowing for ocean breezes & sweeping views. It’s perfect for an arrival dinner with your inner circle of guests, or elegant luncheon with your bridal party.
