The balmy months between June and September showcase some of the best Maine has to offer: refreshing ocean breezes, long sunny days stretching into mild nights, meals of fresh seafood on outdoor patios, we could go on and on.
With so much to see and do, Maine summer wedding itineraries here at French’s Point are as varied as the brides and grooms themselves. But here’s one suggestion for planning a three-day event — follow the schedule in full, in part or just let it inspire your vision for a warm-weather wedding.

THURSDAY

12:00 P.M. Get your marriage license from the Stockton Springs Town Office between 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. to make it official! The Stockton Springs Town Office is not open on Friday.
1:00 P.M. Check in to French’s Point! Settle into your room and soak in the salt air. Welcome to your wedding weekend!
5:00 P.M. Fire up the grill at the Farm Barbecue Lawn and enjoy burgers and brats as your family and friends roll into town to join you for the weekend or head down the road to Young’s Lobster Pound for the casual seafood enjoyed dockside in an eclectic Maine setting.
7:00 P.M. Cuddle up fireside and reconnect around one of the many fire pits at the estate. Enjoy the warm, gooey delight of s’mores fresh off the fire.

FRIDAY

8:00 A.M. Start the day off with a morning yoga session for the wedding party and family lead by a local instructor at the Oceanfront Lawn by the bluff at the Retreat or at the East Side Terrace at the Farm.
8:30 A.M. Enjoy a breakfast of freshly baked blueberry muffins, local yogurt and fresh fruit awaiting you in the parlor at the Farm or the Dining Room at the retreat.
10:00 A.M. Choose your own Maine adventure! Head out onto Penobscot Bay on a schooner out of Belfast Harbor; enjoy golf excursions; relax at a spa retreat; explore Fort Knox Historic Site and the Penobscot Narrows Observatory; or hike and bike one of the many trail systems in the area including the Sandy Point State Park located right outside your back door. Make sure to pick some blueberries!
12:00 P.M. Enjoy lunch with your wedding party and family at Meanwhile in Belfast and enjoy the best ice cream cones at the creamery!.
4:00 P.M. Gather your wedding party, family and everyone participating in the ceremony for a rehearsal at your chosen setting to work out the jitters so everyone can relax on the big day.
5:00 P.M. Enjoy an al fresco rehearsal lobster bake, wood fired pizza, or food truck fare with family-style seating at long tables on the Cobblestone Terrace under elegant bistro lighting or on the Promenade Lawn at the Retreat at French’s Point. Give yourself some time with those closest to you in your wedding party and family with a more intimate event, or go big and include your entire guest list in this welcome event.
7:00 P.M. Enjoy the quintessential summer desserts of blueberry pie, whoopie pies, or s’mores for a sweet ending to a wonderful day.
10:00 P.M. Get some rest! Tomorrow is going to be a big day.

SATURDAY

8:00 A.M. Rise and shine, it’s your wedding day! Take a walk through the trails, along the shore and through the woods in Sandy Point State Park.
8:30 A.M. Enjoy a cup of coffee, freshly baked quiche, and fruit with your family at the Farm House before you freshen up.
9:00 A.M. Your wedding vendor team arrives to begin preparation at the Retreat House.
10:00 A.M. Pampering time begins for you and your wedding party with hair and make-up sessions with your chosen provider. Sit back and enjoy the hours leading up to your ceremony in the Top Level Parlor at the Retreat House.
12:00 P.M. The Wedding party lunch delivered with popovers, chicken salad, and mimosas of course! The groom’s party and family can enjoy a casual lunch on the barbecue lawn after enjoying some healthy competition on the recreation lawn at the Farm House
2:00 P.M. The groom’s party begins preparing and dressing for the festivities. Don’t forget those wedding rings
2:15 P.M. Bridal party gets dressed and has pre-ceremony photos taken on the balcony overlooking the estate.
2:30 P.M. The groom’s party arrives to relax in the Recreation Room at the Retreat House for pre-ceremony photos.
3:30 P.M. A beautiful bar station offers thirst-quenching lemonade, infused water or fruited iced tea while your guests begin to gather and mingle on the Cobblestone Terrace. The music begins to set the mood.
3:45 P.M. The ceremony bell rings out over the bay and calls your guests to the ceremony location of your choosing: the Gazebo, the Oceanfront Lawn, the East Overlook Terrace, the Private Beach, or Lower Level Terrace. Rainy day? Your good luck doubles as your ceremony will be moved inside our stunning Conservatory inside the Retreat House or Sailcloth Tent Structure, both with beautiful water views.
4:00 P.M. The moment you’ve been waiting for is here! Your ceremony will commence with that storied stroll toward your beloved.
4:30 P.M. Congrats to the happy couple! Take your first photos as husband and wife, with your wedding party and family. Your guests will mix and mingle while they enjoy cocktail hour with delicious drinks and hors d’oeuvres on the Cobblestone Terrace, take a stroll on the Bluff Path, take in the commanding view of the bay from our signature Grand Daddy Adirondack chairs, or play a rousing game of cornhole on the Oceanfront Lawn.
5:20 P.M. Before the dinner reception begins, gather your guests and snap some group photos on the Cobblestone Terrace. This is a beautiful record of the guests who were able to join you for your big day.
5:30 P.M. Guests are ushered inside the beautiful Retreat House Dining Room or the Sailcloth Tent Structure for the reception with tables set with all the details you imagined.
5:45 P.M. Before dinner, introductions of the family and wedding party followed by speeches. Cheers to the happy couple!
6:15 P.M. Dinner is served! Enjoy unique fare chosen by you, provided by your wedding catering partner of choice.
7:00 P.M. Official cake cutting. Enjoy your first dance as a married couple. It’s time to boogie!
7:30 P.M. Cake and coffee are served. Chill out with the delights of an ice cream sundae bar
8:00 P.M. Head outside to catch the beautiful sunset with your new spouse and photographer. We offer a variety of locations to capture this splendid light.
9:00 P.M. Fuel the fun with delicious late-night treats like mini lobster rolls, sausage subs, pizza, or even a milkshake and cookie bar.
9:40 P.M. One last call from the bar.
9:55 P.M. Enjoy one last dance with your sweetie for the perfect ending to a magical day!
10:00 P.M. Guests move inside the Retreat House to await their trolley escort as vendors begin preparing for the next day’s gathering.
11:00 P.M. Bid the last of your guests farewell & retreat to your beautiful suite with your new spouse to reflect on this magical experience.
12:00 A.M. Vendor departure & lights out.

SUNDAY

8:00 A.M. The caterer arrives to prepare for the farewell brunch.
9:00 P.M. Your guests can stop by the Retreat House Dining Room one last time to say goodbye and enjoy a farewell brunch before heading home. Enjoy a beautiful, hearty buffet for a more formal affair, or offer portable food and coffee to-go so guests can get on the road after they bid you farewell.
12:00 P.M. Check out time. Pack up your gifts, snap one last picture to immortalize the experience, and hit the road. It’s time for your next adventure!
