Many people choose to get married at French’s Point for the fact that doing so is like having your wedding on your own personal island. We take care of every detail for our couples, meaning they never have to lift a finger, before, during or after their special day! While it’s true there is absolutely no reason to leave our beautiful and private peninsula, there is tons to do right in our backyard should you choose to venture out! In this blog series, we’ll be talking about the nearest town to French’s Point: Belfast. Located just 20 minutes from French’s Point, Belfast is a quaint Maine town, suddenly bustling with things to do!

First up in our Belfast feature is The Gothic New England restaurant. Owned by world renowned chef Matthew Kenney, The Gothic is a vegetarian restaurant inspired by the beauty and bounty of Maine. It was built in the building that used to house the Belfast National Bank, and features an original 16 foot tin ceiling as well as other period decor. Aside from an amazing atmosphere, The Gothic boasts an incredible menu with such delicious dishes as the Early Summer Gazpacho, Chilled Ramen and Creamy Polenta. Our mouthes are watering just thinking about it and we think this would make an amazing local venue for your rehearsal dinner or post-wedding meal as newlyweds!
