Thank you very much for all of your time, support, ideas & warmth over the past 12 months! From the day we met you over doughnuts & contemplated (for way too long) while sitting on your couch, to your thoughtful support in reserving to countless random questions, emails & calls, you always made us feel cared for and like a priority – whether our wedding was months away or days away.
While French’s Point is obviously a one-of-a-kind place with a beautiful backdrop and special history, you and your team were and are a substantial part of making it a one-of-a-kind experience. We are very grateful we got to work with you on such a special weekend in our lives, and your friends & family shared countless compliments about you, Nicole, and of course, the property.
We genuinely hope we can see you again when we’re in Maine, and perhaps, down the road, hold another memorable celebration at French’s Point. In the meantime, we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends & family.

Arielle & Josh had their Maine destination wedding weekend on June 1, 2019 at our French’s Point estate. The couple celebrated with loved ones traveling from all around the world! During their wedding weekend (Thursday through Sunday) they gathered their friends & family at multiple locations around our estate to make the most of our property. Gatherings they enjoyed included but were not limited to:
Their weekend events were designed & executed flawlessly by Heidi of She Luxe Wed.

There will never be enough words to describe how happy and satisfied we were with French’s Point (and Jessika & Nicole)! We found French’s Point in a magazine and just knew we had to set up a tour. From the second we walked into the venue we fell in love with it and couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Jessika and Nicole were incredible to work with, they always made time to answer our questions, give us suggestions, and help turn our dream wedding into a reality. Nicole was our wedding coordinator and we cherished and valued the relationship – Nicole was attentive, polite, professional, accommodating, timely, and understanding.
We had both our rehearsal dinner and wedding at French’s Point. The venue is out of a dream – an exquisite estate right on the water. Our guests stayed at Beach Rose Farm House for the weekend, which was equally as beautiful. Our extended family members stayed at other houses located on or near the property, which was very convenient as everything was in walking distance once our guests arrived.
Our wedding day is one we want to relive over and over again, in large part because of the location. We are so happy we chose French’s Point – beautiful, timeless and classy. It is unlike any other wedding venue. Every guest was blown away by the sheer and unique beauty and we continue to receive compliments daily!

As we do almost every year, this past winter season was spent completing a number of major maintenance and repair projects to keep our beautiful buildings and grounds in top working order. We completed major renovations to the bedroom suites on the second and third floors of the Retreat House, and refurbished the main and lower levels as well. Explore these new renovations in our new virtual tour of the Retreat House in the below video. We especially want to thank of a trusted friend, Josh Swan of Media Northeast for creating this gorgeous video, that captures the essence of French’s Point.
You can check out the Video page of our website for the Farm House Virtual Tour, the French’s Point Promotional Video, and loads of beautiful real French’s Point wedding videos from our talented filmmaker friends, of our wonderful couples.
Tour French’s Point
We know these videos are helpful in many ways, whether you are booking French’s Point site-unseen, you are the host re-touring the spaces to assign guest rooms in advance of your stay, or just relive your memories made here.
Welcoming Your Guests:
To aid in making the arrival process for your family as simple as possible and remove your need to check them in individually, we created Welcome Centers in the heart of each home. When you reserve French’s Point for your stay, as the host, you assign the bedrooms that your family and friends occupy. This will make the arrival process simple and offer the maximum comfort and enjoyment of the property by each guest.
As you enter the Retreat House & Farm House for your weekend getaway, you will see entryway tables, a framed floor map of the grounds, a copy of your customized room assignments, floor plans, and a bulletin board that is perfect for your sharing details of the weekend ahead with your guests and the weekend itinerary. You should include your chosen event planner’s contact information so guests can contact them with questions and ensure they have everything they need to be comfortable and you can then enjoy your time with your guests.
How to Assign Rooms:
You will receive a room assignment template and here are links to the floor plans on the website for both the Retreat House and Farm House. Here are the links to the virtual tour of the Farm House and the virtual tour of the Retreat House is coming this summer. The videos will be shared here and on the Retreat House page of the website as soon as it is complete.
We will share the details of the other Retreat House enhancements in upcoming posts. We hope you love them as much as we do.

There is nothing more important to me than family. But right after family, comes the priority of partnering with and supporting small, family-owned businesses in Maine that help us ensure our guests enjoy the best of what the state has to offer. When we renovated the Retreat House this past winter, we teamed up with some of my favorite Maine makers. I wanted to share these special people with you because without them, the Retreat House project would not have been successful.
Did you know that both homes at French’s Point offer custom bed linens & textiles, proudly made in Maine?
In 2014, when we updated bedroom suites located inside the Farm House, we partnered with our friend Molly Hutchins of On Board Fabrics to make the perfect duvet covers, pillow shams and decorative pillow shams for our beds. There are 14 beds in the Farm House, so this was a fairly sizable undertaking, even in the offseason. I got to know Molly thought that process and I can tell you with complete honesty, she is a pro. She can troubleshoot, problem solve and calculate so fast, that my poor little layman’s mind simply can’t keep up. We loved the bedding so much that when it came time to update the rooms in the Retreat House, I went straight to Molly (in the offseason of course).
Molly made two sets of pillow shams for the eight guest rooms. She made decorative pillows too. Molly made the beautiful velvet curtains in the top floor apartment, and suites 1, 2, and 3. We are talking hundreds of yards of velvet here, which I learned can be hard to work with. Molly also covered all the cushions for the built-in benches and church pews on the main and lower levels of the Retreat House. She also made gray cushions for the new lounge furniture my father made on the upper level of the Retreat House terrace and the East Overlook Terrace at the Farm House. Now guests can find a comfortable seat to take in the views inside AND outside! With her help, we chose very neutral and soothing fabrics that tied beautifully with the architectural elements of the homes. And they are gorgeous, and the craftsmanship is unparalleled.
Molly, her husband Glan, and their employee Melissa all tackled this big project with dedication and zeal that I am quite confident can only be found here on the coast of Maine. You can visit On Board Fabrics website, or follow Molly on Facebook. She’s a hoot! On Board Fabrics barn is located on Route 27 leading to Boothbay, at 660 Boothbay Rd. Edgecomb, Maine. Tell Molly that Jesse sent you!
