Developments at French’s Point: Tent Pad Project

French's Point
Published December 12th, 2013

The snow is just beginning to fall lightly here at French’s Point and yet our mind turns to this summer and the start of an exciting new wedding season. Every year, French’s Point works to take the feedback we receive from clients and find ways in which we can improve upon our offerings to make this location a stand out venue for destination wedding events. This year, one such improvement we are proud to announce is the construction of our tent pad for our own sail cloth tent right here on the ocean for use by future couples in their wedding experience! The tent will be installed each year from May 1 through October 31, weather permitting of course!

Many brides come to us with the desire to have a sail cloth tent as part of their wedding experience, and as anyone who has attended a wedding inside a tent without a full floor on a day with rainy weather knows, things can quickly get muddy and miserable for everyone involved. We know you’re not interested in ruining those beautiful heels!!

So, with all of this in mind, we have started construction on a stained, stamped cement pad overlooking the shore on the west side of the Estate. This pad is also conveniently located adjacent to walkways that lead to our cocktail terrace and to the bathroom facilities on the lower level of the Estate.

The tent will easily accommodate celebrations for up to 300 guests, or offer an alternative setting as your experience progresses, i.e. ceremony at the Gazebo, cocktails on the oceanfront terrace, dinner inside the Estate and dancing under the beautiful tent. This format allows guests to enjoy a new setting, and allows our clients to create a new experience for each aspect of their event. We have also scheduled many rehearsal dinner lobster bake events to take place the night before the wedding under this beautiful and coastal tent, offering a casual rehearsal dinner experience followed by a big reveal of the main Estate for the wedding day.

We will be pouring the pad, and adding color and texture in the Spring, so get ready for more photos to come once things start to thaw! Check out the pictures below to get a glimpse of what this will look like when the final product is done!
