My friend Kristina, owner of The Purple Orchid Event Planning is a coordinator with an eye for logistics and details! She is the perfect fit for a couple seeking a wedding planner to relieve couples of the burden of managing the vendor’s team and details involved in a wedding in Maine. The Purple Orchid Event Planning specializes in tented, outside, and/or private property weddings that involve more moving parts (for example, tent, rentals, generators, etc) than a resort venue. Kristina’s experience in the hospitality industry has provided her with the skill sets and knowledge needed to ensure your guests have the experience you set out to create for your wedding. How long have you been operating your business?

We are so excited (and ready) to be entering our sixth season of business. Prior to opening The Purple Orchid, I had an extensive background in all aspects of the hospitality world.

How would you describe your services (i.e. day of coordinator, full-service event planning, logistics management, event design, etc)?

The Purple Orchid, Event Planning is a full-service event planning company specializing in tented, outside, estate, barn and family-owned properties throughout Maine. Our services include day-of coordination, consultation and custom packaging for all our wedding clients. We strive to be one of Maine’s premier logistical planners and only design weddings for our full-service couples.

Describe your ideal client.

The Purple Orchid team loves to laugh, have fun and enjoy a team approach to event planning. Our ideal client is laid back in their personality but knows they deserve a well-planned and executed event. They work as hard in their world as we do.

What is your favorite moment on wedding day?

Great question! I still cry at ceremonies. When you can see, and feel, that unique love couples have for one another, it makes my heart happy. Having the opportunity to be a part of one of their most intimate days while being welcomed by the most important people in their lives – we are just so grateful and fortunate to be a part of that.

What’s your favorite trip in Maine?

There are so many little gems in Maine; undoubtedly, why people decide to get married here! The Purple Orchid is a based out of Mid-coast Maine because we love that area. Other favorites include hiking in Camden, wine tasting in Portland, skiing in Bethel, swimming in Sebago, camping in Belgrade and trying new restaurants along the way.
